Richard Friend Photography
Richard Friend's photography provides an intimate, compassionate insight into the tensions between modernity and tradition, and the dramatic social and environmental changes across Asia - particularly Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam - and more recently in India, Nepal and Myanmar.

He combines photography with his background in anthropology. After completing a doctorate based on extensive ethnographic fieldwork in Southern Thailand, he spent many years as a development practitioner leading social development and conservation programmes, and policy-oriented research, photographing extensively, and publishing widely in research journals, books and reports - as well as more accessible blog and Op-Ed articles.

All photographs are available as high quality prints. For further details, pricing and delivery details please send inquiries via the Contacts page.

For assignments - for photography, research and writing - please send inquiries via the Contacts page.
